When I open a new invoice and enter the product there, a blue loop constantly returns and no product is added.

Please check your server error logs and let me know the error details so that I can suggest.
If you are not sure about server then you can enable app logs by modify the app/config/config.php and set log_threshold to 1. After that perform action again to produce errors and lastly check the latest log file in the app/logs/ folder.
