Hello,

No. There are no future plan yet. The next major update might not be developed using CodeIgniter but Laravel, as I think.

Thank you

Hello Mian, how are you friend. Hey, that worries me because I'm doing a course on Codeigniter 3 to get to know the application better, that's why I asked you if there was an update to 4 because I read that it is different but now you tell me that the migration will be to Laravel, you make it more difficult for me , it will be that I must also learn this framework. And what is the reason to switch to Laravel, what are the advantages really.

PS: Excuse me for my English.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Kind regards.

Hello,

There is no plan for major update in near future so you don't have to worry much it at the moment. This item will stay with CodeIgniter 3 for a long time. The CodeIgniter 4 will be modern framework as Laravel. While it will be new but the Laravel is mature and better community of developers.

Thank you

Excellent Mian, that reassures me because then it gives me time to learn more Codeigniter 3, and as you say we will see in the future.

On the other hand, you did not inform me which modules you plan to add later, as well as Banks, Cash, Accounting, you plan to make it a Complete Administrative System or you are simply going to leave it in Billing and Inventory.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Thanks Mian, although I see that you did not understand my question, because I was referring to what new modules do you propose to do in this version that you are working on. "On the other hand, you did not inform me which modules you plan to add later, as well as Banks, Cash, Accounting, you plan to turn it into a Complete Administrative System or you are simply going to leave it in Billing and Inventory."

Hello,

No. I am not working on update. The current version v3 will get bug/error fixes with minor addition and security updates only. If there would be a plan for v4 I would be happy to share but I have told you there isn't any yet.

Thank you

Hello Mian, how are you friend.

Returning to this topic, I see that you released a new system "Modern Point of Sale Solution (MPS)", with Laravel and Vue, so I imagine that "Stock Manager Advance (SMA)" you will only be correcting errors and you are not going to add any new module, or add any other functionality.

Now I would like to test on my own the migration to Codeigniter 4 or, failing that, to Laravel, which I think would be the most recommended following the principle that if you are working on a new project with Laravel it is better, now it is feasible that I can do this and that you recommend me to do for said process and which of the two to use for the migration, Laravel or Codeigniter 4.

PS: Excuse me for my English.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Kind regards.

Hello,

Codeigniter v4 would have similarities to v3, you can refer to upgrading from 3.x to 4.x on the docs.

Thank you

If I was reviewing and apparently the migration is easier to Codeigniter 4. But seeing how Laravel 8 works it seems to me that in the long run it is easier because of the way it works, now I imagine that the migration would be more complicated but I would like to know If you recommend me to migrate it to Laravel at once since from what I have read it is a better Framework and I have been seeing how it works and it really looks excellent.

Or if, on the other hand, the migration cannot be carried out to Laravel and it is better to pass it to Codeigniter 4 which is apparently very similar to laravel.
