Forum Cat And Sub-Category Count Problem

0

"I'm pleased to inform you that I have successfully installed the Simple Forum on my domain. This is a great step forward. However, I've run into a minor issue that I'm hoping to resolve.

The issue lies with my sub-category titled 'Graduation Events.' I've created two articles under this sub-category. However, the sidebar, which displays a count of articles for each category and sub-category, is not reflecting these additions. Instead, it's showing '0' articles under 'Graduation Events.'

This discrepancy is confusing and could potentially mislead my forum users, making them believe that there are no articles under 'Graduation Events.' Therefore, I am looking for a solution to accurately update the article count in the sidebar.

For a clearer understanding of the issue, I've attached a screenshot. Any assistance on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

The favorites of page is fixed and should be fine in the next update (by this Saturday).

The mail views are published, and you should be able to modify them as you need.

The members page link will be displayed in footer as per settings.

I will need more info for the shout out. How this feature works etc.

The email could fall in spam box due to several factors. This script initiates the email only. You can request your user to whitelist your email address.

Thank you

Hello,
I am pleased to announce that I have successfully updated to Beta 11 of Simple Forum. Some of the issues have been resolved, making it now functional. However, there are still a few concerns I would like to address to improve the forum:
1. I had anticipated that the welcome/authentication message (which I could edit to my preference) would be available in Beta 11. However, I have been unable to locate where I can make this edit.
2. Every time we update the forum, images and profile pictures encounter errors. It is inconvenient for users to have to re-upload their profile pictures with each update. Despite my use of the "php artisan storage:link --force" command, the error persists.
3. When I click on the author of a post in the forum, I encounter a 500 error.
This is what I have discovered so far. If I come across any more issues, I will add them later. Thank you so much for your support!"

Hello,

  1. I have added the view for the verify email resources/views/emails/verify-email.blade.php

  2. Yes, the command needs to run as files/folders were replaced. There is no need to upload the files again. Those are saved in the storage/app/ folder. If you are replacing them instead of merging, then please do backup the folder before update.

  3. Please try again on latest version and if still same, please share the error details form storage/logs folder.

Thank you

Hello, I've successfully installed Beta 12, and the welcome/confirmation email is now fixed; I can edit its content as I wish. However, some features are not functional.
1. For reasons unknown to me, images/profile pictures won't display after the update.
2. When I click on the author of a post, it results in a 500 error (Attempt to read property "slug" on null).
These are the problems that I've encountered so far with Beta 12. Thank you!

Hello,

  1. You can check storage/app/ folder for public uploads.
  2. I will check this in the next update.

Thank you

Hello sir Mian Saleem, I have another question related to the admin account. Why am I unable to edit long body threads after I've saved them?

Hello,

You should be able to edit. There is no such restriction unless there are some errors. You can check error logs.

Please share the thread link too.

Thank you
