Hello,
Yesterday I purchased the Simple Forum script from codecanyon.com. Since I’m familiar with things like WordPress, I thought I could easily set this up, but I’ve been trying for about 12 hours and haven’t been able to make any progress. Its name is “simple,” but the installation is anything but simple. 😃
At this point, I don’t think I can install this script because I have no knowledge of Laravel or similar frameworks. I like the system, so I don’t want to give up on it. I’ve read all the articles on Codecanyon and your site. I also asked ChatGPT and Gemini about the parts I didn’t understand, but even they couldn’t help me get it installed.
Could you please assist me?

Hello,

Please check the latest log file in the storage/logs/ folder for server error details. Sometime the app key is duplicate on finalise step. Please check the .env file and see the APP_KEY. It should look like this APP_KEY=base64:W5CK3nzP7Qkk/wViMCjGdHfqoGQShfimCy9JWcDvLc0= If it's not then please set the empty value APP_KEY= and then run php artisan key:generate

That’s exactly the problem. When I go to /install, I get a blank white page. I’m redirecting index.php to a subfolder. There’s no .env file—I have to create it myself. The installer doesn’t write the settings into .env. I can’t (and don’t want to) do everything manually. Nothing is written to the logs you mentioned, because the system isn’t running. How else can I explain it? I don’t think even you could install it.

Hello,

I am not sure how are you redirecting. You should set root path for domain/subdomain or your web server to redirect all traffic to public folder.

You can change the mail settings in the .env file. Yes, I am sorry as I was not aware of the password so I used placeholder and forgot to inform you.

The language files are in the lang folder.
