Simple Forum Installation

0

I bought Simple Forum on Codecanyon last night. I tried to follow guide. First I created a database (localhost, dbname, dbuser, password). and I edited app/config/database,php and config.php. My domain is httpS. so I changed base url in the file app/config/config.php as https with slash. (https://restwall.com/) and turned cookie_secure to TRUE. I uploaded all files to ftp. Installation guide says "Open the http://yourdomain.com/pathtoupload/install/index.php". but pathtoupload folder is absent. Will I create? When I erase pathtoupload, nothing is going on except showing a logo. When I try to follow installation guide, update guide says, back up all, now upload the new one. (Will I try to follow installation guide or not, why do not I start to use update guide-questions!) I am at the point to give up. Lots of times create db, app, install, update config's editing, database editing. Different CMD 777, 755, 644 permissions to files or folders etc. Now only_group_by database disabling on mysql. It is too lot for me. Since 2015 The hardest one is. On the other hand, I will write envato-codecanyon, they should evaluate the policy of licence number and support.

I would like to tell the script is really good for the people who can install it.

Hello,

The install is not folder but route. The installation shouldn't be a problem if you follow the installation instructions and have uploaded all the files.

I am not sure why you are editing the config files. You just need to upload the files and then access the installer in browser.

Thank you

Why I edited? my domain https. Installation guide says "How to enable HTTPS support?-You can easily enable https by editing the 2 lines in config file (app/config/config.php) as following: Update base url from http://yoursite.com to https://yoursite.com with slash.
Set $config['cookie_secure'] to TRUE.

Other thing, it is not running to install. Uploaded all files to server. Database info's inserted in app/database.php like guide said. With or without editing, it is still not running.

What is pathtoupload? guide says.

Best regards

Hello,

For 404, please make sure you have uploaded the .htaccess file. Please double check most of user get 404 due to missing .htaccess file.

Other reasons might be mod_rewrite it should be enabled and configure to use .htaccess file from site directory.

If you want us to check for you, please let us know site and server details in private reply. You can add private replies by enabling the PRIVATE for Staff only at top right of reply section.

Thank you

Hello,

Your server has IIS that's the reason for 404 as .htaccess is for Apache.

I am happy that the issue is resolved.

Thank you
