Hello,
The steps are quite cleared. I checked the installer again and it is working fine. As you can can't access the installer so I suspecting it's something with path or serve config. But there could be other reasons too. I am here to check for you.
If you read my first reply again you will know that I asked you to share the server details in private reply and how to post private reply is mentioned on the first reply too.
You can add private reply by checking the Private
at the top right or reply section.
Thank you

I made it work. It is a matter of file permissions. Upload all files and folders to your public_html folder, give .env file permission 777, and run yourdomain/install/

@Per Arne Tangen
I extracted mine to a folder and i tried changing file permission as you have suggested but it didnot work for me..What else did you do to make yours work .Am getting fraustrated waking up to fiight an installer on my screen each day, both my test and live environment didnot work
I think extracting such files drectly along side with your wordpress files is not really good because there will be so many files folders under your public_html
example having two .htaccess under public_html
If you are to troubleshoot then you have to becareful so that you dont delete your wordpress files by accdent

All I did was upload the zip file to public_html and unzipped it there. I then chmodded the .env file 777 before installation. After that, all was ok. You can also try to chmod all files 777 during the installation and change it back after it is done.

Are you creating a forum only ?
My site is not for only forum thats why it has to be site.com/forum
So the option i have is to upload thie zip folder to public_html and extract it to a named folder not alongside with my wordpress files

Hello,
I have noticed these issue and it's not item related but your server related.
nginx
setup to allow direct traffic to forum/public
folder the installer will show up. If you are not using apache web server there is no need to check .htacess
files. So your server admin can guide about this.Your Wordpress multi-site causing is blocking the access so it needs to be fixed. I suggest you install the forum on subdomain.
Thank you

Per Arne Tangen If issue is due to Wordpress multi-site setup that is not allowing access to the files in subdirectory. Thanks for helping
